What Stone Options Are There For Fire Surrounds?

Home improvements have been quite the focus for many of us during the pandemic, no doubt driven in large part by the fact that we’ve all been confined to our living spaces for the last few months because of lockdown… so we’ve seen lots of areas just ripe for renovation here and there.

If you’ve been looking at your fireplace and thinking that it needs a little bit of a makeover, what about having a fireplace surround made for it, to really help bring it to life?

When it comes to stonework for fireplaces, you have quite a lot of options to choose from, you’ll be glad to hear. Natural stone is a really beautiful element to bring into your home and can be used in a variety of ways throughout, making a contemporary statement wherever it can be found.

For fireplaces, granite is a great option because it’s low maintenance and multifunctional, is heat resistant and easy to clean, so you certainly won’t regret it if you do go for this particular material.

If you have a gas fireplace and don’t have to worry about soot and grime, you might want to consider having a marble surround instead. A truly classic design choice, marble will always look beautiful and works perfectly alongside all sorts of different interior styles.

Another option – and a great one for anyone looking for something really durable and hard-wearing – is quartz. If you have a busy home and know the fireplace may see some traffic, this would be a good move.
